I was invited to a 4th of July cookout a few days ago and, while the only criteria for me to attend was to bring a healthy appetite, I thought it would be a nice gesture to bring something. Instead of quickly deciding what I would bring, I procrastinated and have now resorted to frantically searching the internet for last minute 4th of July desserts. Luckily, I was able to find a few great ideas on Pinterest and I’m sharing them here to help out all of my fellow procrastinators. I’ve got you fam.
American Berry No-Bake Cheesecake
You can’t go wrong with this Kraft recipe. The instructions are so simple but it’ll still look like you put a lot of time into the dessert.
4th of July Fruit Salad

Vegan Heaven has a wonderful fruit salad that is perfect for those of us who have a sweet tooth but don’t want the extra calories.
4th of July Firecracker Jell-O Cups
I love this dessert because it looks so festive and is very easy to make. If you’re feeling fancy, add a twist and make them Jell-O shots for the adults to enjoy. That’ll really get the party started.
4th of July Dipped Ice Cream Cones
Take your ice cream cones to the next level and decorate them! You could also have party-goers customize their own cones.
Patriotic Rice Krispie Pops
This dessert is the most involved, but the finished product will make it worth the extra effort. Plus, you can’t go wrong with Rice Krispies treats.
In the end, I was able to beg convince my sisters to help me put together our take on Red, White, and Blue Cupcakes. We used Duncan Hines red velvet cake mix and added Nestle Toll House White Chocolate morsels to the center. We topped off the cupcakes with Pillsbury vanilla frosting and even made some tiny American flags to help bring it all together.
Word to the wise, you should melt the chocolate chips before placing them in the center. If not, they will look very strange at the bottom of your cupcake. And when I say strange, I mean like teeth. Terrifying!
So there you have it! What are you bringing for your Independence Day cook outs?
