You know those moments when you just don’t know where life is taking you? Those moments when you stay up at night wondering what’s next and what makes you different and what you’re meant to do? When I’m faced with those moments, I want to complain, be bitter, wallow in my own self-pity.
It feels good. It’s easy.
Lately I’ve been in a little funk, trying to figure out this thing called life. I’ve let myself get swept up in a whirlwind of uncertainty, but I’m pulling myself out of it. I have to admit that this gloomy weather that we’ve been experiencing in South Florida makes it a tad more difficult. There’s something about the rain that just makes me feel reflective.
Cloudy, like my thoughts.
I don’t know about you, but I can let my mind wander in a thousand different directions, running only on what ifs and maybes. But it’s time for me to switch gears, refocus! “If you want to make a change, you have to change your mindset.” That’s what I keep telling myself.
So, what better way to change my thought process, than through my clothes? For the second style challenge that a few Miami bloggers and I are participating in, we were all asked to style floral prints. I decided to go all out and wear bright pink pants with my floral top, because I honestly needed the pick me up.

I think the work that goes into changing a situation that makes you unhappy can be a little intimidating. When you look at it and all its moving parts, it seems really daunting. Where do you begin? Sometimes it takes something as simple as adding some floral and a bit of bubble gum pink to your outfit to help chip away the roadblocks, light a spark, and lift your spirits.
You just have to take that first step and do what it takes to move forward. The hardest part is getting started.
