New York Break

Hey everyone!

For the past few weeks I’ve been hanging with family in New York City. There are more than a few differences between the Magic City and the Big Apple, but I’ve loved every minute of exploring and experiencing them all. I have to admit that I haven’t really been taking many photos of my excursions but that’s because I get so caught up taking pictures that I feel like I’m not really enjoying the moment. So this time, I made it a point to be present. One day, I’ll figure out how to balance the two!

Anyway, I’ve gone out dancing, sightseeing, and, of course, eating. The food scene is great here and I’m pretty sure that if I don’t watch it, I’ll be packing on the pounds in no time. (The better to keep me warm during the fall and winter months!) I’ve been having a great time to say the least. Who knows, I might even make this a permanent thing. I love Miami, but a little change of scenery never hurt!

Check out a few of the pictures that I remembered to take below. And I promise to do a better job of sharing my fun on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

Canarsie Pier – This made me miss the blue waters of Miami. I can’t believe people were fishing here!

    1. Yes, I’ve been having a really good time and this is only the beginning! And yay to balance — hopefully it will come soon! 🙂 ~Maika

  1. My boyfriend’s family lives near Canarsie Pier. I still can’t believe people actually fish there. I’m always hoping they catch and release as opposed to take home and cook. If you made your way down to Seaview Park there’s this hidden path in the park that leads you to a private beach on the Pier. Absolutely gorgeous. I’m definitely sure you could do some real fishing there as opposed to the actual pier lol.

    1. I was SO shocked to see people fishing here and actually taking their finds home! I’ll definitely have to check out Seaview Park. It sounds like a really great place to take outfit pictures. ~Maika
