Happy summer, everybody!
Instead of relaxing and enjoying the break from school, this summer I am in the one and only 212 (that’s New York City for all you un-hip folks) interning at CBS News’ national headquarters! But yes, I am in the city of Sex and the City, The Carrie Diaries (which is the same thing lol), and Gossip Girl this summer! Except, you know, on a glamorous budget.
I know, I can’t believe I’m here either!
So far my time here has been really fun and productive to say the least. I’ve gotten lost less than five times, which I count as a major victory.

Besides being in the studio on the 1s and 2s — I mean logging tape and fulfilling my other intern duties — I’ve tried to make some time for fun. So far I attended an early screening of “The Internship” (very appropriate) where I got some popcorn, a free t-shirt and even saw Vince Vaughn, which was pretty cool.
My second adventure was attending a live taping of The David Letterman Show. His guests that day were Bill O’Reilly and Greta Gerwig, with musical guest Quadron. Quadron played their single, “Hey love” which I’ve had on repeat ever since hearing it.
Free things and laughing. My two favorite things! After maxi dresses.
I also went to my first baseball game ever at the new and improved Yankee stadium! It was a Yankees versus Rangers game and although the Yankees lost, (oh, no?) I still had a great time.
Most of all, the events I’ve attended have been free (my favorite amount!). And although it’s all been courtesy of CBS, there are loads of free and reduced fare things to do in the City such as watching the Jamal Jackson Dance Company / Movement for the Urban Village and a Fat Joe concert.
Until next time!
