I’ve been using Clean and Clear Moisturizer for as long as I can remember. It’s perfect for South Florida’s weather because it’s light and doesn’t feel greasy. So when I saw the CLEAN & CLEAR® ESSENTIALS Sensitive Skin Routine I thought “It already includes the Dual Action Moisturizer that I’ve grown to know and love, this can only be good!” So I purchased everything and started to use them. Find my thoughts below!
Essentials Foaming Facial Cleanser
I washed my face every morning and night with the Essentials Foaming Facial Cleanser. The cleanser didn’t exactly foam as much as I thought it would. In order for it to foam at all, I had to wet my hands and face first. Then, I would squirt it directly into my palms and rub my hands together for a little longer than I’m used to for it to begin to suds up. If the cleanser landed on my fingertips, it wouldn’t foam at all, which I thought was weird. I feel like my skin felt ok after washing, but there were times that I had to wash my face twice for it to feel really clean.
Essentials Deep Cleaning Toner
I normally don’t use toner because I have very sensitive and oily skin. I have yet to find a toner that hasn’t caused me to break out and, sadly, the Essentials Deep Cleaning Toner is no different than the others that I’ve tried. I was only using the toner for a week when I had to stop entirely. My face started feeling oilier than normal and I was breaking out all over the place. It started off with just white heads and then full on haven’t-had-acne-this-bad-since-middle-school pimples. I was hoping that because the toner was made specifically for sensitive skin that it would work for me, but I was wrong. So, the search for the perfect toner continues!
Dual Action Moisturizer
My tried and true moisturizer didn’t disappoint. It was just as light and non-greasy as I’m used to. I did notice that when I was in New York, I had to use a little more than I normally do, but this time, just one squirt got the job done.
Use It or Lose It?
All in all, I thought that the CLEAN & CLEAR® ESSENTIALS Sensitive Skin Routine was less than stellar. The cleanser got the job done for the most part, the toner made me break out, and the moisturizer didn’t let me down. I won’t be purchasing this set again. Have you ever used this routine?
