Hola, party people! I have been in Madrid for over one month, which now makes me an official madrileña (except not at all, haha). I’m fairly certain that I’m still in the honeymoon phase of being away, but can you blame?
High five, piece of artwork!
There is one thing I have noticed so far during my time abroad that is really distinct about Spain: the fashion. Women wear heels to go jogging here. Okay, that’s definitely an exaggeration but I could probably count on one hand how many sneakers I’ve seen here. Everyone here has such distinct looks but they all look fantastic all the time, therefore I’ve had to step up my own wardrobe too, which is great considering I wanted to stop dressing like a 14 year old.
Not bad, right?
Now, instead of talking, well typing, about the Spanish fashions, here are some pictures of a couple of students from El Colegio Mayor Diego de Covarrubias, which is associated with the Complutense University of Madrid. Also, just so we’re aware, I did not just walk into a Spanish university and start taking pictures of people. Lol. I attended a cultural exchange mixer with a few of my peers from my abroad program and as we practiced our Spanish, the students from El Colegio Mayor Diego de Covarrubias practiced their English. Pretty fun stuff!
But my fun did not end there! On Sunday, some friends and I went to the gorgeous Parque del Buen Retiro and had a picnic/impromptu photo shoot, where I ran into more awesomely dressed Spaniards. Take a look!
I have more adventures to come while in Spain (I’m going to Valencia this weekend!) and will posting an absurd amount of pictures on the GLB Instagram, Tumblr, and pretty much anything else I can get my hands on.
