On Thursday, May 5th, 2016, I graduated from the University of Miami with my Master of Business Administration in Marketing and Finance!
A little over two years ago, I was living in Atlanta when I made the decision to go back to school. There was a lot that went into this choice. Where did I want to end up? Did I really want to be a student again? And most importantly, was I ready to forego making money for full-time studying?
After much soul-searching – and a few tears, let’s be real! – I decided that I was willing to put my professional career on hold and pick up the books instead. I think that in the end, it’s been worth it.
That’s me in the middle! (With my friends: Kendra on the left and Kristina on the right)
I’ve learned a lot about myself along the way. (There’s really nothing like all-nighters and group work to help put things in perspective!) I traveled to Brazil, had a short stint in finance that helped reaffirm my love for marketing, and learned more about my community by becoming a part of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Miami.
I went into this program with no expectations and left with so many memories. And I’ve gained a few friends who have been with me through some of my most amazing, proud, and even embarrassing moments in the last two years.
And of course I can’t forget about the family and friends that have been there since the beginning, through all of life’s ups and downs.
